During the drawing, a Megaplier number is randomly selected from a weighted field of one 5, three 4s, six 3s and five 2s. Save time with multidraw by playing your numbers for multiple drawings. You can play 2, 3, 4, 5, 10 or 20 consecutive drawings. Read about changes to the Mega Millions starting jackpot and jackpot increases between drawings effective folloiwng the April 3, drawing.

The advertised Mega Millions jackpot represents an estimate of the annuity amount, which is paid in 30 graduated installments, with the first paid at the time the prize is claimed. There is also a cash prize payment option equal to the jackpot prize pool.

Jackpot prizes are pari-mutuel and are divided equally among all jackpot-winning tickets. Jackpot prizes are available for payment after the 15th calendar day following the drawing, and winners have 60 days from the date of claim to decide on a payment option.

Mega Millions can also be played with other Lottery draw-style games. Find out more about our game bundling options! The advertised Jackpot Prize represents an estimate of the annuity amount which would be paid in 30 graduated installments.

The jackpot prize is pari-mutuel, meaning it will be divided equally among multiple winners. In accordance with game rules certain Mega Millions and Megaplier prizes may become pari-mutuel if claims exceed available prize funds.

Megaplier does not apply to the Jackpot Prize. State law prevents the sale of Louisiana Lottery products through the Internet. Only licensed retailers are legally authorized to sell Louisiana Lottery tickets. The multidraw features on the Lottery's draw-style games allows players to purchase plays for multiple drawings, up to 14 for Pick 3, Pick 4 and Pick 5, and up to 20 for Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto and Easy 5.

If you win a prize during one of the drawings, you do not have to wait until the last drawing has occurred before collecting those winnings. When you cash a winning multidraw ticket with drawings still remaining, the Lottery's terminal system will print out an exchange ticket good for the balance of the remaining drawings and with the same numbers as on your original ticket. The retailer will retain the original ticket as it is no longer valid and give your exchange ticket with your winnings.

For more information, visit the Claim a Prize page. Winning scratch-off tickets and Fast Play tickets can be claimed up to 90 days following the closure of the game.

A list of closed games and end-of-redemption dates can be found on this website. Winning draw-style game tickets can be claimed up to days following the drawing in which the prize was won.

Winners have 60 days after the ticket is validated by the lottery to elect either the annuity or cash payment option. The prize on a winning lottery ticket may be split among a group of ticket owners; however only one prize check is issued. The prize check is issued to either one person or legal entity partnership, trust, etc.

Each member of the group provides a completed IRS Form W-9 for tax reporting purposes at the time of the claim. The person receiving the check for the group also provides picture identification and is responsible for distributing the winnings to the group members. The Federal Form allows the Lottery to send a separate W-2G tax form to each individual winner noting the amount won and withheld on their behalf.

The Powerball or Mega Millions jackpot prize may be paid in the annuity payment format or the single payment cash option. The group members must decide on one payment option; it is not possible for some group members to take the cash option and others to choose the annuity. While it is not necessary for a group of people to form a legal entity to claim the cash option, the Lottery asks a group of winners to form a legal entity with an assigned tax identification number for a jackpot prize paid in annual installments.

This simplifies the tax reporting and prize distribution for a group of people receiving payments over an extended time. When claiming a prize as a legal entity, the legal document organizing the entity must list the name of each member of the group, their city of residence, and the portion of the prize each person will receive. The Lottery encourages all players to seek financial advice before claiming a large jackpot prize. As with all claims, the names of those receiving prize funds and their city of residence is public record.

Players should sign the back of their ticket for security purposes, secure their ticket and treat it as cash. We also recommend that players who believe they hold a Powerball, Mega Millions or Lotto jackpot-winning ticket contact the Lottery's headquarters immediately at to schedule a time to claim their prize and have their questions answered.

This will facilitate a smooth prize payment process. Players who believe they hold a jackpot-winning ticket must bring the original ticket to the Lottery's corporate headquarters in Baton Rouge within days of the drawing in which the prize was won for verification and any prize payment.

The Lottery recommends that before coming to claim a jackpot prize, winners get financial advice so they fully understand the tax or other legal implications involved. Under the Lottery's statute, all prize payment records are open records, meaning that the public has a right to request the information.

Depending upon the amount won and public or media interest in the win, winners may NOT be able to remain anonymous. The statute also allows the Lottery to use winners' names and city of residence for publicity purposes such as news releases. The Lottery's regular practice is not to use winner information in paid advertising or product promotion without the winner's willingness to participate.

When a prize is claimed it becomes the property of that individual, even if the prize is paid out as an annuity. Hence, all winnings become a part of the estate of the deceased.

Currently, 47 lotteries participate in Mega Millions, including Louisiana. Megaplier prizes are not shown. Tickets must be validated at a retailer or Lottery office for prize payment.

See the "How to Win" tab for the Megaplier prize chart. How Multidraw Works Save time with multidraw by playing your numbers for multiple drawings.

Every Saturday night, after the raft trip, the group of us would walk across the bridge and dine in a restaurant next to the bank. Is this the restaurant you were referring to. Always had good food and it was our way of relaxing after a great day.

So many memories……. I lived there when I was born in , The town has changed alot since then. I first lived in a house up near the commissary near the depot. Which has burned down. Then we moved to a house next to the Liptraps, below the road that came down to the town from the road that came around the town. It too has burned down. They have all passed away. White 1 to 3 and Mrs.

They had a 4H club and a Northern Star. We also would have blackouts during the war when we would pull down dark shades to the windows and get under our desk. I remember My Mom using the red tokens issued during the war.

I also remember the soldiers coming home after the war was over hanging out of the train windows. Just anxiou to touch hands of anyone and to realize they were home safe, alot of them would hand us chocolate Hershey bars to see us smile and to be Happy. Those were good times.

Also that was about the time margerine came out in a squeeze package with a dye dot that you would break to put red dye into the white margerine and squeeze and squeeze until it was all orange. We children enjoyed.

He also had a train pass that allowed free travel, That we would use sometimes on a pullman when we went to Montgomery Alabama or up near Philadelphia to visit my Aunt. I have very fond memories of Thurmond and the people that live there. My Uncle Paul is reported to have burned down the hotel across the river having been paid to do by the owner of the Thurmond Hotel. He served time in the penitenary for the crime.

I can remember the river getting to almost flood levels, the current going so fast. The snow would get very deep at times and that made for good sledding down the road behine my house. I also remember a boy going off that same road on a bicycle into the train tracks He was hurt pretty bad but a train did not come along. There are alot of good memories of Thurmond.

May be I stirred a few memories for you too. Elanor, your stories are so vivid. Sorry I took so long to answer. I left in , but my older brother lived there longer but has now passed away. I spent my summers as a child and young adult there with my grandmother and grandfather. The memories came flooding back, as they often do, when I came across this site. I wish I could go back and experience the sound of the river and the swaying of the building when the trains would roll by while I laid in bed for the night.

If anyone sees or reads this I truly hope you have a wonderful day. Thank you for writing I seen a story on Thurmond on aerial America on the Smithsonian channel, so I decided to look it you and read your story.

What wonderful memories to have, I am now hoping to go there and see it. Is everything here abandoned? Is this town for sale? I am soon to start a very lucrative business and would be interested to know of any of these properties for sale.

Great Story. I was just looking at an abandoned train station in another town that I hope to make a deal for. Searching for others is how I came across this site. Wondering if any of Thurmonds porperties along the railroad tracks would possibly be for sale?? Contact me at renagade rmi.

Also enjoyed Matwan, the Sayles movie because of the pictures of the places I walked through. There was an aged, shy, and partially disabled black woman, living in the top floor, unburned portion of a burned out house. At that time there were 80 people living in town. Although she was shy, she could be coaxed to smile, and at least say hello to the very curious, and to people who were tourists but who were genuinely interested in her well being.

The legend was that she had been a housekeeper for a wealthy coal barron, and he had willed the house to her.

Alligators are attracted by motion. Under normal circumstances they will not be attack you unless hs do something to attract their attention or encroach on their territory. This means do not feed them. What should you do? Use those по этому адресу and hightail it out of there.

Fight back, and fight back hard. If it takes you into a death roll, try to roll with it to avoid losing the arm or leg it has hold of. See more info here. Hi Tina, while alligator accidents in Florida do happen, statistically they are quite rare.

Many people who grow up in Florida manage to avoid run-ins with these reptiles attzcks myself. That said, we certainly recommend teaching your young son about the importance of water safety and about respecting these wild animals. Just to be alligaotr, it is not safe for anyone to enter freshwater lakes and rivers here Ссылка на продолжение n Florida.

The alligators have lost their fear of humans and will attack given the chance. As long as you do not go into the water you are safe. Am I a Neanderthal? They are killers. Why do we encourage killers in our living spaces?

I can understand feeling that way. We all need to figure out how to live our own lives, while zlligator wildlife disruption to a minimum. Hopefully, we can all peacefully coexist. Stay safe! How many people do humans kill? I hhas lived in Bradenton Fl for the last 5 years and personally know of 3 dogs attacked and killed in this area.

EST advice is to never let your dog run without a leash. Every attack was a result of people letting their dog run without a leash. Growing up, we frequently went swimming in the Alifia River and Lithia Springs. Back then gators were around but not many. I was wanting to take my 9 year old in July to see these natural spots.

But is the prolific number of gators too much of a concern? Do the locals still visit these spots? As much as I love Florida I cannot fsthomntaking my dog anywhere but the ocean to swim. There приведенная ссылка an alligator in our pond behind our condo. My dog does not go in the water, but she goes pee etc.

Will the alligator actually come out of the water and go after my dog? They hunt prey along the shoreline. I have lived in Florida my whole life. Gators are something you respect and avoid.

Ever FL native will have those same stories. They are extremely stealthy! Yes the gator will sneak up close and strike anything close to water especially lb dog for a ft gator is nothing. Gators will drag the dog into the water and drown it.

Watch videos of it on youtubeit is shocking how fast had quick they are. Keep your dog on leash at all times artacks away from the water or your dog will be eaten. Your talking about a apex predator that survived past the dinosaurs.

No wonder they come checking the new neighborhoods, their driveways, нажмите сюда pools, some even trying what state has the most alligator attacks – what state has the most alligator attacks open doors… WE are in THEIR home, not the other way around. Stick to waterparks, pools and the beach.

Plenty of that. Humans and dogs are not in the food chain. To mention the kid at Disney, he was playing in the water creating a splash, for millions of years, the alligator has gone to bite a splash and gotten food; fish-turtlethis time he got the kid, total accident.

If the gator could have seen the kid in human form, he would have never bitten him. Looking towards the future. Nobody wants that. This is a conversation that needs to be had constantly. We want to avoid trouble for all involved. Aftacks are moving to Naples, Florida actually driving right now, and we have a small dog and cat who we recently rescued from outdoors. Does anyone have what state has the most alligator attacks – what state has the most alligator attacks advice on what we should do with the cat?

Keep him indoors or let him in the covered balcony with the pool? Should we live near the woods instead of a lake? But, Tbe think the best thing what state has the most alligator attacks – what state has the most alligator attacks can do is to call the complex manager and ask if there are alligators in the pond, if there have been any issues with pets, and how far the alligators venture outside the pond if at all.

Best of luck for your move! I lived in a atfacks in Tampa with a retention pond. Alligators would frequently be found in the pond, as with any body of water over 8 inches deep … puddles… etc. I had 2 small dogs when I lived there and never had any issues as long as they were on leashes. Please keep in mind that there are other predators besides alligators. Our NextDoor has numerous posts about bobcats, coyotes, hawks and eagles that have been forced out of their habitat as more and more wildlands are sold and developed.

Small dogs and what state has the most alligator attacks – what state has the most alligator attacks are at risk, and since I have pet rabbits, it infuriates me when people let their rabbits roam outside. Or worse, abandon them to fend for themselves. Our pets are clueless about predators and stage what state has the most alligator attacks – what state has the most alligator attacks mark.

In other mosf, even if you keep your pets away from fresh water lakes, rivers and ponds, they can be grabbed right from your own backyard. And BTW if you live near the Everglades, pythons are a serious risk to pets. Thanks to humans who released them when they got too big, pythons have ruined the entire ecosystem.

Alligators are native and at one time were hunted so much for meat and their hides that they nearly went extinct. Newcomers and their pets are vulnerable. Always keep pets on a leash. Look for dog parks where they can be offleash to play. Most HOAs as well as city mosh county ordinances do not allow pets, including cats, to roam.

I have a dog. I spotted a huge adult gator on a nearby golf course. I have been living in Florida for 41 years. Currently, I live on a canal between two large Lakes and I have seen plenty of gators just about everywhere.

I see them swimming in the canal and in my back yard. Luckily, he survived with minor injuries. Before approaching the waters edge throw a stick in the water to see what happens and If you want to know if gators are in the water, throw in a rock or stick that will make a large splash. If there, the gators will come to investigate.

You must assume there is a gator in any Florida freshwater! Hello, Kirk. Thank you for sharing your advice with our readers! Thank you for taking the time to comment. Has everybody lost their sense? Allegators are dangers to us, it is irresponsible to allow them to cause harm to anyone.

If you can, request a room on the upper floors to get a great view of the mountains and of Asheville. This lovely, historic hotel is in the mountains 15 minutes north of Asheville and is over years old. Keep in mind, while the view from the hotel is gorgeous, and the spa is one of the best in the nation, the rooms are small and unremarkable. The view from the Sunset Terrace, however, is one of the most beautiful from any location in the Asheville area. Try to get a reservation at the Sunset Terrace restaurant at sunset.

To prepare you for sticker shock, it goes without saying that everything at the Grove Park is expensive. They have local artwork lining the walls, in the rooms, and a small art gallery on location for guests to peruse. As you walk through the lobby of the Grand Bohemian, you will feel like you have stepped back in time and have entered a medieval castle. The hotel is located in the historic Biltmore Village which is village of quaint shops, galleries, restaurants and bakeries. The Bohemian is the closest hotel to the Biltmore Estate, located just outside the main entrance.

For a more affordable Asheville NC hotel options but still close to the Biltmore Estate, there is the Biltmore West Sleep Inn , which is overall clean and inexpensive for the area, as well as the Comfort Inn right next door. Located in the University of North Carolina grounds, the gardens feature almost a mile of trails through over local plant species. The accommodation available in Montford adheres to its cozy, historical atmosphere.

You will find plenty of small bed and breakfasts, inns, and independent hotels based in converted historic buildings and manors. Whilst not the cheapest area of Asheville, you will still certainly get more for your money than you would in downtown. Stay In Historic Montford If you want to experience the authentic local atmosphere ; you want to stay close to the city center without the premium rates for accommodation, you love art and open-air theatre, you love historical architecture.

River Arts District is one of the coolest neighborhoods in Asheville. It is located immediately south of the Historic Montford District If you want to best appreciate its brilliant arts scene , the River Arts District is definitely a neighborhood to consider. Stretching along the east banks of the French Broad River, the River Arts District was once a bustling industrial hub, full of warehouses and factories.

Rather different to the cozy, historic charm throughout much of the rest of Asheville, the River Arts District has a distinctive edge to it, born from its gritty origins and its enduring creative community. Even just walking around the neighborhood you can take in the artistic flare. As for the studios and galleries , more than artists are based in the area, producing and selling their works. With such a big community, you are sure to find an artist that suits your style preference so you can pick up some original local art as a unique souvenir.

The community hosts various regular events. On the second Saturday of each month, the neighborhood comes alive as the artists organize various shows and classes for visitors to enjoy.

Twice a year the area hosts an event known as The Stroll. Essentially a walking tour of the area, the local artists open their studios to display their works and grant visitors an insight into their artistic processes.

If you need a break from browsing around the various arts halls, there are plenty of trendy cafes dotted throughout the district for you to relax in. Alternatively, grab lunch at one of the many restaurants or varied food halls. In the evening, this is another great place to consider heading out to enjoy the nightlife. You can enjoy live music from local musicians whilst sipping on a locally brewed beer. The River Arts district is very conveniently located.

If you prefer to stay in a more typical hotel, you might want to consider looking at the neighboring districts rather than the River Arts District itself. There are plenty of more contemporary options to choose from just beyond the warehouse district. Stay In River Arts District If you love art and are visiting Asheville to make the most of its famous art scene , you want to stay close to the city center, but not right in amongst the crowds of tourists;.

West Asheville is the broad suburban area to the west of the French Broad River. Rather than the historical chic of downtown, or the edgy, artsy buzz of the River Arts District, West Asheville has built a reputation on its cool retro vibe.

If you would love a neighborhood that blends a tight-knit community with vintage style , West Asheville is the place for you. Although definitely popular with the hipster crowd, West Asheville maintains an authenticity that is often lacking in areas purposefully designed with such a market in mind.

Rather than a gimmick, the vintage atmosphere is a labor of love by the local community that has endured for several decades. The area is a hub of family-run record shops, vintage clothing boutiques, and second-hand bookstores. As one would expect from such a hip neighborhood , this is where you will find some of the best cafes and coffee shops in Asheville. Along with the local pubs and bars, this area is a hugely popular hangout area with Asheville locals. If you are looking for a neighborhood where you can indulge in the community vibe and really get to know the locals, West Asheville offers plenty of opportunities.

When you get hungry, you should head to Haywood Road. Running straight through the center of the neighborhood, this is a street lined with incredible bistros and restaurants. From tapas to Thai, these family-run restaurants offer some of the best and most varied food in the city.

Although West Asheville is still a more residential neighborhood than the tourist hubs of the city center, it is becoming increasingly popular with visitors. If you want to visit before it gets too overrun with tourists and potentially loses some of its authenticity, then I suggest you get a move on.

Being quite a ways from the pricey downtown, accommodation in West Asheville is generally more affordable than in the more central districts of the city. Whilst there are currently fewer options than in the more tourist-heavy areas, you can still find several small but comfortable hotels in the area.

If you are working with a really tight budget, there are some family-run hostels in this neighborhood that will really help you keep costs down.

Just a couple of miles east of Asheville city is the small town of Black Mountain. Outside of the main city, Black Mountain is much less of a tourist hotspot than the districts within the city limits.

Despite being ways outside of the city, you will still have easy access straight into the heart of downtown via the Route 70 highway. Black Mountain is a great place to enjoy all of the various outdoor activities on offer whilst still being able to get to the major attractions of Asheville.

Black Mountain is located right at the base of Mount Mitchell. If you love hiking and exploring, then Black Mountain has tons to offer. Nature centers dotted around the town and base of the mountains provide up-to-date information and advice on the best things to look out for. Much like Asheville, Black Mountain has a thriving arts and culture community. The charming town center boasts an array of local galleries and studios, small shops, and family-run restaurants.

Poetry and live music are popular here as well so you can often enjoy live performances at the various bars and cafes. In addition to the vast swathes of natural landscape entirely surrounding Black Mountain, there are also plenty of parks and green spaces within the town itself. Lake Tomahawk Park is a particularly lovely example with fishing spots and a comfortable trail around the lake. All in all, if you are looking for somewhere to enjoy a relaxing break with the whole family, Black Mountain is perfect.

Meanwhile, local breweries and galleries offer a variety of options to adults. There is a great range of accommodation options to choose from in Black Mountain. In addition to your typical hotels, there are also plenty of cozy inns, guesthouses, and cottages on offer. Thanks to being well removed from the city center, and less of your typical tourist trap, prices for accommodation are generally much more affordable in Black Mountain.
