Please try again later. Verified Purchase. I loved the movie. I loved the music from the get go. So, I bought this CD and I play it in my office regularly.

It is NOT dynamic, and flashy. The music is mellow, earthy and sweet – start to finish. Haunting, melody lines with repetition, and minor key harmonics dominate. Very simple instrumentation – guitar, fiddle, accordion and celeste? Maybe a little Mexicana influence nice trumpet solo. It bores my wife in general. But, I love the mellow groove and peaceful trance-like feel. Don't get it if you are looking for bouncy pop!

I'm not usually one for soundtracks, though having the play list for the entire run of "Northern Exposure" would have been nice. Orton's work on this sound track made the movie what it was I'd like to hear more stuff like what's on this CD because it is definitely mood inducing and beautiful.

When I first heard it I fell in love with it. I immediately related to the melancholy and hauntingly beautiful music which whisked me away to another place Deeply moved and absorbed by it from the first to last cut. Nebraska's sound track helped set the tone and mood of the movie.

The stark landscapes in the movie were embellished by the haunting and masterfully scored sound track. Mark Orton et. I really enjoyed the movie, and the soundtrack just embedded itself as an earworm for days afterwards.

I can't explain it, but I find this album soothing and comforting. I often have it playing in the background as I do the chores I hate, like paying my bills. I feel better when I hear it. Better and safer than Valium. Give it a listen One person found this helpful. A mark of deeply soulful music. Deep inspiring, joyful and at the same time sad.

A mark of deeply soulful music, Mark Orton is surely someone to keep an eye on. I'd recommend this soundtrack even for those who've missed the movie, and a must hear for Robert Johnson and Led Zeppelin fans such as myself. After seeing the movie, my husband and I feel in love with the soundtrack. We were keeping time with our feet through the whole movie!

There is something haunting about the music. We've ended up leaving the cd in the player and we play it every day. Comfortable, relaxing back ground melodies. Would recommend it highly, and the movie too!
