I was told it was pre made also because I ordered it with rum not their gin but the bartender who was actually making the drinks corrected the guy taking my order and said they are made to order.

Order a drink they have to make and see the bartender show off their skills. Cool place, will be back. Antidote has the best vibe of any bar we've been to in Asheville. There are so many nooks and crannies to tuck yourself into, and we enjoyed a game of chess in one of these while waiting on our drinks.

We haven't managed to hit it while the rooftop bar has been open, but that's on our list of to-dos one day. I love the decor and the whole place is just gorgeous. If you are craving brunch or late-night Asheville bars, head to The Social Lounge — they even have a rooftop terrace. The Social Lounge is a must if you are looking for late-night bars in Downtown Asheville. Inside find a more historic-looking space with cozy brown booths and a fun wall mural.

This bar adjoins, and is part of, Strada in downtown Asheville. A longtime star of this space is the venue's excellent rooftop bar. Check out the rooftop Sunday brunch for al fresco mimosas and a revamped menu featuring omelets, salads and vegan breakfast bowls.

Food was so good as always! He was pleasant and quick. Waitress was very detailed and just awesome. Food was tasty and filling. Great location and just cozy cute spot. This was supposed to be a special occasion We were so excited to come here and try it for the very first time. Everything started out great and quickly took a nose dive when my wife ordered a dirty martini and it came literally dirty with black flakes in it. When we asked what it is the bar tender responded with "its from the olive juice and its normal.

We didn't drink it and still paid for it. The black flakes are not normal and should have been dealt with especially in a pandemic where everyone is afraid for their well being and like things extra clean.

We still had to pay for it. Needless to say the rest of our time was about as good as the dirty martini. The service we give a 1. It was very evident that our waitress didn't want to have to deal with us since we had to ask for most items We're guessing because we weren't satisfied with the DIRTY martini even though we didn't make a huge deal out of it.

The food we give a 2. It was good but the food quickly became cold. The dessert we liked the most and would have to give a 4. It was delicious and the fondue was amazing, but the strawberry's weren't ripe yet and the churros were harder then a rock.

Sadly were really disappointed because it was valentines day and also our 13 year anniversary. We would have loved for this place to help us celebrate this occasion but it was evident in the lack of service and presentation that this restaurant was not a good choice. Maybe we caught the waitress, bartender and cook in a bad time This review is based on our experience and opinion.

We urge you to try it in hopes that you have a better experience then us. He was super personable and engaging. Our drinks were absolutely fantastic!! No lie.

The other servers were just as awesome too! They talked to us and didn't rush us at all. Plus, the playlist was BOMB! We're definitely coming back! Show 2 more. Located smack dab in the center of downtown, The Vault is a favorite watering hole and home to what most locals consider to be the best burger in Asheville. You can get a 20oz beer here on the cheap, or a well made martini. We also love Baby Bull and The Malvern.

Tip your servers and bartenders well people! Cocktails were great and food was good also. I had the Vault Burger and it was great! A little too dry for me that I wish I ordered it medium rare, but with restaurant burgers in my experience medium rare is almost too rare sometimes.

It was delicious though, not a big fan of arugula but they did something to it where the bountiful amount of arugula was so good! I don't understand how they did it, but I liked it this time. I absolutely love the Vault and try to visit for the best burger in Asheville every time we visit! Amazing food every time and they serve burgers late! My boyfriend and I really enjoyed this place. The tacos and the fried chicken sandwich were amazing. I have to work early so only had a cider, but all of their cocktails sounded amazing.

I also really liked that they haven't had straws since We will definitely be back. Located in West Asheville, The Odditorium is a dive bar, as well as a venue for shows.

Donning a punk rock vibe, this bar is home to a smorgasbord of events live music, comedy, trivia, poetry, art shows, burlesque shows and dance parties, to name a few. Food was great, and cheap! Bar has your average beers, with some specialty cocktails that were interesting. The building is amazing, paintings, pictures, and macabre artwork everywhere. They have a working cigarette machine!

One of the coolest "dive bars"I've ever been in. Bar staff and patrons were all nice. Has outdoor seating with ashtrays, and I think shows every night.

Loved it. Wish I could have stayed longer and watch a show here. Wife brought me here because I am an odd one indeed. Felt right at home. It was like I was back in my first apartment. Great food. Great atmosphere. Don't stay after dark or the vampires will suck your blood I'm sober so i was worried i may not enjoy myself here, but boy was i wrong!

Funky, speakeasy-style bar in a tiny house offering regular karaoke, plus a big bourbon list. Located in West Asheville, Double Crown is known for its relaxed New Orleans inspired atmosphere, with a variety of cocktails.

The Christmas lights hang year-round, creating a fun ambiance while you sip and mingle at diner-style booths. New Orleans themed dive bar with live music or a DJ just about every night of the week.

They have an outdoor patio and an impressive selection of bourbons. The Double Crown is an excellent dive bar, one of the most fun ones I've visited. They have an awesome selection of whiskey at very reasonable prices. The bartenders are also extremely friendly and knowledgeable. This is definitely one of Asheville's best bars.

This place used to be a cool spot but now requires you to show your vaccination card, which was surprising considering the amount of homeless people sitting at the tables outside.

We were unaware of this and I was the only person in my group that had my card. Definitely lost several customers for good. For many years I've had a policy of not giving a business a bad review. But my experience was so bad at the double crown that I had to change this. I went to the venue last night, and was greeted by the rudest bouncer I've ever met.

He asked to see my ID and vaccination card. As someone who is doubly vaccinated and has received a booster shot I was happy to comply. The bouncer took a minute and a half to look at my vaccination card and then raised his eyebrows at me before indicating that my vaccination card was a fake. I have been asked many, many times to show my vaccination card at places ranging from music venues to health facilities to educational institutions and I've never had this issue.

I explained that the card was genuine and that I have never encountered this issue before. He then called me a liar and went on an arrogant ego trip, acting like he was an expert on vaccination cards.

I make a consistent effort to support local businesses, but the rude and immature behavior demonstrated by this bouncer will guarantee that I never support this business again. Slide 1 of 2. Set above Table restaurant, this sophisticated haunt features lots of local beers on tap, an interesting wine list, and cocktails crafted from small batch sprits and backyard herbs.

Small plates, including sashimi, oysters, house-made charcuterie and artisan cheeses, round out a petite, gourmet offering ideal for late night snacking and sipping. This is a great spot for hard core cocktail aficionados and those who genuinely appreciate inventive panache behind the bar.

Awesome cocktails, agave spirits, charcuterie, tacos, empanadas, and other hand-held bites inspired by Mexico — served upstairs inside a cool old building in Downtown Asheville.

They have indoor and outdoor patio seating, as well as a fire pit under string lights what could be better.

They offer a free minute brewery tour as well as multiple samples along the way. If you get hungry, they always have a couple food trucks to grab a bite from. Very clean place, the host was very attentive. We usually like stouts but the dark larger is great. Definitely a spot for beer. No restaurant available. Yet there is food trucks outside.

So you might want to try that. We loved this dog friendly brewery! Customer play corn hole, enjoy tables with heaters if cool, indoor and outdoor seating, and so many beer choices!

We got the Belgian Flight and the Classic Flight and both were great! Ok I don't usually stop for breweries as there's a fine line between drinking and driving when traveling. That's being said the atmosphere, the vibe, Cecilia food, the ambiance, the seating. These beers will knock you out, enjoy responsibly. Mentioned on 1 list. It closes early, which makes it a good one for families. Photo courtesy of Asheville Pinball Museum. Talk about nostalgia on so many levels. This museum was incredible!

We were expecting something totally different, like where we were going to learn the ins and outs and history of the pinball machines but it was literally rooms and rooms of vintage pinball and arcade games that you could play.

Then the decor here was out of this world. Fun, cool… it really sent me back to my childhood. We spent about an hour here, no wait, lots of space, and hand Sanitizers. They have beer too which makes this experience even better! Go go go! We randomly came to this place because we were on the waitlist for lunch at a restaurant.

My friend tried different versions of pinball from different periods of time. They also have digital version and few limited editions. So, your wristband is valid for the day, which is great! Awesome theming and a good mix of pinball machines along with arcade classic cabinets. Even the bathrooms are themed!

This is an incredible arcade spot to visit. Barbecue restaurant. The location is right downtown close to a bunch of breweries, which is perfect if you want to grab lunch before, after, or during your brewery crawl. The building is an old warehouse that they turned into a huge open space dining area with an industrial chic vibe. The fried chicken sandwich is the best in town.

Really cool spot! Hush puppies were delicious. Highly recommend the Lions Share cocktails. Thank you to Scout for being a really kind and personable server. Food was awesome and the atmosphere is so cool! Huge windows with a little lovely mountain ridge view.

They even have murals on the walls from Really cool little gem. We enjoyed our lunch here, but I wouldn't necessarily say we have to make this a regular stop. The sweet tea was perfectly sweet. BBQ is vinegar-based and on the meh side. Honestly can't recommend any of the sauces. We learned about this place from the Food Network, so our expectations were high.

The atmosphere was neat and our waitress was friendly. We seated ourselves per their sign's instructions and apparently we sat in a table that gets served by the bar. The bartender did show up a few minutes later, and apologized for the wait. I would describe the food as ok – but nothing to write home about.

I ordered the fish sandwich with lima beans. I didn't really care for the seasonings in the beans. My husband ordered the chopped brisket po boy sandwich with french fries.

The chopped brisket was more like pulled brisket. The taste was fine for both meals – but this isn't a place I'd make a special trip to. Book store. What is one of the most unique bars in Asheville for bookworms?. Known for its flights of champagne, Battery Park Book Exchange actually offers a wide wine selection though the champagne choices are top shelf and were perfectly paired with local chocolate truffles.

Seuss book, and patrons may add their own message inside. The books are also for sale and we took a few home. This place is such a little treasure. The concept of a book store that serves food, cocktails, and bakery items is brilliant. I love the different levels with books galore and seating on every level.

My only complaint was the not so friendly hostess. I was alone and wanted to sit outside but the table offered to me was inside and felt out in the open. If I was with someone else I may not have minded but I felt a little on display.

I asked if I could sit outside but she said nothing was available but a few minutes later sat a couple outside. I still enjoyed myself and my waiter was fantastic, I wish I remembered his name. Wonderful experience for literary themed drinks and food! You're seated in a dining area with cafe tables and chairs or comfy couches in the bookstore. The drinks and food are named after classic novels, and there's a non-alcoholic menu so everyone can be included!

It's a great champagne bar in a bookstore that I absolutely adore. I didn't have any photos from inside the bookstore but it is absolutely adorable! They have the genres sectioned off perfectly, so you know exactly where to go!

Employees were extremely helpful and sweet! They also had a blind date with a book section, the book was wrapped up so you couldn't see what it was, and a typed synopsis was on the front to tell you what it was about without giving it away!

This bookstore is so charming and well curated. A must-visit in Asheville! Cozy book store with a good selection. They have some great picks displayed on the tops of the bookcases in the fiction section and also a bestseller section near the front. And a nice surprise was a selection of books that you can buy without looking at the cover.

The books are individually wrapped and have things such as genre and brief descriptions writing in the front of the wrapping. You choose your book based on that and when you buy it, you get to unwrap your surprise book. Lovely idea. Spanish restaurant. Show 5 more. This place and menu are all about celebrating authentic Spanish cuisine which means — tapas!.

The restaurant itself has a modern, chic, cozy, eclectic feel. I would highly recommend making a reservation in advance, but walk-ins are welcome at the bar if you are lucky enough to snag a spot. Absolutely stunning lunch. The specialty cocktails were outstanding. Perfectly balanced and unique without being gimmicky. Every single bite of food was delish. Creative layering of flavors AND spot-on execution. The standouts for us were the fried eggplant crispy golden pillows of melt-in-your-mouth savoriness and the burnt grapefruit and "tonic snow" dessert — what an unexpected dare I say mind blowing , utterly delightful combination of bitter and sweet!

Service was faultless — professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Pacing was likewise perfectly timed. The food is excellent. The staff is great. However I took off a star because it is ridiculously loud and not recommended for a quiet romantic meal. I'd recommend some noise dampening or other acoustic treatment. Pictures are of the Spanish tour minus one or two courses we ate too quickly. One of the few places that lives up to and surpasses the hype.

The pork is amazing. There is no other way to describe it. However, the goat cheese stuffed peppers with parsley salsa verde absolutely stole the show. One of the best dishes I have ever had. Breakfast restaurant. While you wait, grab a coffee or mimosa and chill on the patio or stroll through their fruit and vegetable garden. The maple black pepper bacon is life changing, your mouth will thank you.

I love this place. They have a garden out back and indoor, outdoor, and sheltered porch seating. The vibe of the peace is so chill, and the staff is very helpful. The food was great, and they change up their menu often. We got the shrimp and grits, chicken and waffle sandwich, and the lemon pepper crusted trout.

The risotto in the trout was so amazing and perfect. The food came out in a timely manner, and everything was perfect. Amazing cocktails. Got their gin cocktail and it was strong not that we minded. Ordered the pecan crusted fried green tomato sandwich and shrimp and grits. All were delicious. Service was attentive and friendly. Cute place. Loved that it uses local vendors for their food. Even in winter time the patio was super toasty with its enclosure and heaters.

The food was amazing and arrived quickly. The servers were all really helpful and friendly. You would never know it was mid-February when we went South Asian restaurant.

Indian chaat street snacks plus homestyle platters thalis in a funky, laid-back space. My go to is the chicken tikka roll or the butter chicken. From the moment you walk through the door your senses are seduced by all the enticing aromas. Last time we were in Asheville, this place was boarded up because of the pandemic. Now it's open, and we've found another place to eat when we're here. We were seated at the bar immediately got there around pm on a Saturday , and picked up the drink special frozen raspberry daquiri , then got an appetizer and two chicken Tikka wraps, which were incredible.

The bartender was friendly and chatted with us about everything, and even recommended her favorite chutneys and said they make their own bitters in-house. I wanted to try everything on the menu and we will certainly be back. Truly the best Indian food I've ever had in the United States!

I had heard about this place before our trip to Ashville and it was on my list of must-try places. We found the restaurant hours at most places in Ashville weren't great, many closed a few days every week which meant we had to try certain places all within specific days and a lot of them were open on the same days.

Looking at their website I think this had more to do with the pandemic than what their business is typically like.

My friend and I are visiting Asheville for the weekend and a lot of people recommended this place to me. When we arrived it was a 1. Recommended for Best Nightlife because : It always feels like a party at this brewpub known for its great food and welcoming vibe. Kristen's expert tip : LAB's stage hosts a different musical act nearly every night beginning at 8pm or later.

The mostly local showcase gives area singers and songwriters the chance to share their talent with the cordial crowd. What Sky Bar lacks in square footage it makes up in views. Access to this outdoor spot comes via a ride up a vintage elevator inside Asheville's historic Flatiron Building, where a friendly attendant worthy of a tip will escort you up eight floors. Step outside and a friendly waitress will offer a small collection of cocktails, which guests sip on the 8th floor terrace and on large metal fire escapes on the 6th and 7th floors.

That might not sound appealing but anyone who has ever visited will tell you Sky Bar has one of the absolute best views of the sun setting behind the Blue Ridge Mountains. Subdued tunes drifting from overhead speakers help to set the easy mood as folks toast the day's end with wine, stiff martinis and tasty cocktails made with house-infused spirits. Sky Bar is closed in the winter but heats the patio in the spring and fall.

Recommended for Best Nightlife because : Simply put: you won't find a better place to toast the sunset. This stylish downtown lounge was created by the Chai Pani team and focuses on munchies-type fare and creative cocktails. Inside the Wall Street locale, a wide selection of Indian-style bar snacks blend in well with the vintage Bollywood posters on the walls. Menus and a hand-written chalkboard showcase atypical cocktails, including The Green Card, which is made with pineapple juice, lime juice, gin and green chutney.

Like Chai Pani, bartenders craft their sumptuous spirits with the flair of chefs, using house-made bitters and syrups in their arsenal. The space is chic but cozy with lots of dark wood and chocolate leather to give it an air of sophistication.

Expect also artful, small-plate desserts that make for an ideal accompaniment to the creative nightcaps. Recommended for Best Nightlife because : With lots of Asian and Indian flavors, this cozy lounge's internationally-inspired cocktails are a welcome departure from the city's southern nuances. Be forewarned: lines can be long. With more than a thousands different beers on offer each year, Thirsty Monk has earned national recognition as one of the best beer bars in the world.

You'll also find sandwiches, tacos and pizza plus beloved dishes such as the famed Monk Nuts and White Tire Dip, made with beer, of course. Recommended for Best Nightlife because : Home to over Belgian beers, and 50 more in the upstairs pint house, Thirsty Monk is sure to please beer enthusiasts everywhere.

Kristen's expert tip : The Thirsty Monk hosts Pint Nights at three of its locations on various nights through out the month when a specific beer is featured and those who order it get to keep the glass. Desserts are also bite-sized and exude some culinary whimsy, as exemplified with Button's fun root beer float interpretation.

Nightbell has no sign and its Lexington Avenue street front looks like an antique shop, making it easy to miss. Recommended for Best Nightlife because : Decadent craft cocktails, imaginative two-bite fare and a fun selection of whimsical desserts make this plush speakeasy a standout in Asheville's nightlife scene. Definitely recommend! Offering creative craft cocktails and a classed-up-cool atmosphere though it's still Asheville casual , Sovereign Remedies is one of the city Located downtown Asheville N Market St.

Lots of great options of the list and plenty of tasty recommendations from the staff. Worth a stop if you want something worth having. This was a nice, eclectic spot, with a dark ambience. We ordered the corn bread, brussel sprouts my fave , beef carpaccio least favorite , potatoes, trout, shrimp, and beef shoulder.

Drinks were great, I recommend the No Sleep till Brooklyn, and service was on point. Dessert was underwhelming, I recommend you skip it. Chopped Cut for the Moment main course. Service was good. The frites were a standout and rest of what we ate was adequate. We had a cute table that overlooked the first floor.

Mentioned on. Show 2 more. Stopped in for supper before the concert and so glad we did. Service was fast and friendly. The food was fantastic. The fish was real fish not frozen and flat. The Bison burger was so fresh and excellent quality of meat.

We will definitely be back. Big screens throughout and in a walkable part of downtown. The burgers were good but we felt that the fried foods i. The server was attentive and it was a nice place overall. I'd go back to watch a game if I had the option. Great location and size. Perfect for a night in town for a concert. Excellent service early and late.

Food was exactly what we were expecting in pub foods Many many beers. Tried several and they were all served correctly.

Will return again, I'm sure. Show 5 more. A large and stylish indoor lounge, leading out to an equally spacious rooftop terrace with terrific views over Asheville and the Blue Ridge Mountains as a mighty backdrop. The Cuban influences are eminent in cocktails and food, but there is also local beers and wines.

I loved this resturant! Valet parking was really quick and the valets were very friendly. The Cambira Hotel lobby has some interesting chairs I was dying to sit in.. We sat outside, and it was a bit chilly, but the view was excellent. Our drinks were strong too! The Cuban sour is actually quite sour. Highly recommended! The rooftop terrace with its expansive view of the Blue Ridge Mountains were amazing.

Nothing beats that view! Food was mediocre. We had a few appetizers and several different entrees and all just missed the mark. Nothing we had was spectacular.

So 3 stars for the food and 5 phenomenal stars for the views! Staff were super friendly and hustled being short staffed Ordered the wings which were really tasty. One orde veggie burger – bun was stale and was not appetizing looking as it was just a burger on the plate, no sides Another order, sliders – only two were served, again not appetizing looking, sliders on a plate no sides. Now maybe sides were an option, but we were not aware. The other two traditional Cuban meals were very tasty which was shared with everyone Churros and rum cake were a nice closer.

Sake brewery. Asian fusion restaurant. It's hard not to feel hip at Ben's Tune Up, an almost completely outdoor bar and raman eatery converted from a bygone auto shop. Inside the 3,square-foot courtyard, folks take their pick of any number of upcycled seating options, including old truck seats, where they sip local beer and now sake, which is brewed onsite. Food is crazy good. Very impressed. Got the brussel sprout app and beef bowl beyond version.

Great spot! Live music some nights. While they make sake, they have a full bar menu! Definitely on our list to go back! Nice spot in South Slope. Food is great. They make their own sake and beer and offer plenty of other options.

Oh, and it's definitely worth walking around and checking out the decor and building. Collaborate with friends in real time Plan along with your friends with live syncing and collaborative editing. Is Fleetwood's a dive bar?. Vintage clothing store? So neat. Great music, neat people, the clothes are awesome and fun,rad atmosphere like an old basement youd hang out at in highschool Great time. Good price for the show and for those who don't want alcohol but still thirsty the have mocktails. My husband and I renewed our vows here and it was such a great experience!

It was the full package; renewing, shopping, sipping, laughing, crying- all the things. Sweet Cheetah She brought us to a rack of vintage clothing to choose our wedding attire.

She made us feel really comfortable during the ceremony. Despite it being a fun vibe, it was all taken very serious. After our cutie ceremony, we did a photoshoot inside and outside. We paraded around the bar getting attention.

More guava mimosas, antique shopping, and hung in our normal clothes at the bar after it all. What was once a movie house—the marquee is a dead giveaway—is now an upscale music club. Early in the evening a full dinner menu is available Great place for food a drink while enjoy local artist and more Had a great time sounded Amazing Artemis Pyle band was awesome. What fun this place was!

The husband and I popped in for a drink or 3 and a snack. Our bartender was Melissa — she is outstanding! She makes the most amazing drinks if you like coconut rum and fruity, she is your gal.

I swear she didn't stop for a second, and neither did the guy she was working with. They were constantly refilling drinks and making everyone feel at home.

The bar seems a bit small; I prefer to use the word "cozy", because the people are fantastic and friendly. The band we saw — Supper Break, a bluegrass band — was great fun. They pulled out some awesome oldies as well as played some of their own originals.

We didn't go to the back end of the place, so I can't say what was back there. We're already making plans to come visit Asheville again. If we do, Jack of the Wood is back on our list! Our bartender was very attentive and fun, we liked him very much. We got the buffalo chicken fries and they were stupendous. The selection of beers wasn't my favorite, but we found some that we liked. We enjoyed the live music that was happening all day long – on a Saturday.

All in all a really great experience. The bar is rustic and friendly. However, the staff is not. I told her yes and she took the cash tip included , not assumed , never said thank you but instead crumbled the receipt facing away from me and proceeded to chat with a couple she knew. I felt it was incredibly rude. I continued to finish my drink and leave. Honest opinion.

Long-standing, gay-friendly dance club with drag shows is part of an entertainment complex. It is a landmark for many Asheville locals and tourists, known for its large dance floor and cabaret shows. Had a really great time here!!

Night clubs aren't normally my style, but I had a really great time here. Would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for fun while on vacation! Came for the NYE balloon drop night. Alright experience. The place was jam packed with people and they only had two people working the main bar, so it could take up to 20 min of standing there just to get a drink. I'm very patient and don't mind waiting but I feel if they had known how many people would be there since they did pre order tickets they could have accommodated their staffing better, and the bartenders seemed very overwhelmed too.

The drinks themselves were not very good I think because of that rush, to the point where I was just sipping on them because I really didn't like them but still wanted to drink.

Kind of killed the vibe. Other than that the music was good and the drag show was fun. Maybe on a different night it would have been better. We were only in Asheville for one night, and got the recommendation to come here from a local. I was not drinking, but still enjoyed the multiple vibes in the different areas, never saw anyone get rowdy, and the staff was honestly the best I've ever experienced.

You guys did an amazing job of showing us what Asheville has to offer, and I can't wait to come back! Funky, speakeasy-style bar in a tiny house offering regular karaoke, plus a big bourbon list.

The best spot for live music and adult beverages. We really enjoyed Tressa's Place. The music was really good; local musicians just doing their thing, very well.

People dancing and enjoying themselves. Bathrooms are nice and clean. Tressa is awesome. And she provided her late night visitors with everything they needed including genuine hospitality.

We brought some friends from out of town in after a night out on the town and my buddy said it was his favorite music stop. Thank you Tressa and everyone at Tressa's Place for a great evening!! The atmosphere is magic! The music is astounding! Highly recommend.
